Mom's obituary.

Today's my mom's 58th birthday. Her obituary also ran in the Philadelphia Inquirer today. Because I want to be able to keep what it says, and I can't get the newspaper, and the philly.com print out looks like crap, I'm putting it here, below the fold of this article. Click if you'd like to read, too.

Susan C. Tobey | Lawyer, editor, 57

Susan C. Tobey, 57, of Wayne, a lawyer and editor, died of a heart attack at Paoli Hospital on Sept. 24. A wordsmith and grammarian, she would have smiled to know that she died on National Punctuation Day, her daughter Laura Mattioli said.

Mrs. Tobey graduated from Lower Merion High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Mount Holyoke College. After earning a law degree from Villanova University, she was a publications editor for law firms. Since 2004, she had been with the firm Duane Morris in Philadelphia, writing informational articles about legal developments and court case rulings for the firm's clients.

Mrs. Tobey was passionate about her black labrador, animal-protection laws, the Mummers, sports and TV's Dr. Gregory House.

"She was a woman of strong convictions and opinions, could find humor in anything, and made the meanest scrambled eggs on the East Coast," her daughter said.

Mrs. Tobey is also survived by daughters Sarah and Elizabeth; two brothers; and her former husband, Peter Tobey.

Services were private.

This is a picture of Mom sent from her coworkers. She was at a work function.
